Teachers workshop :
A Teacher’s workshop was held on 10th Dec,2007 at Trinity Tower,83 Topsia Road (s),Kolkata – 700046. 34 teachers from 14 schools participated in the workshop.
Student’s workshops:
18 Schools have been covered individually with 100 students from each school i.e. 1800 students in the Student’s Workshop. Climate change was the main point of discussion. Slide shows, film shows and interactive sessions were done in schools. A students workshop was arranged on 1st July 2008 on climate change and its effect on biodiversity where 150 students and teachers from 15 schools participated. A sit and draw competition was arranged for junior school students (from class VI – VIII ).
The YCS program was started in January after the workshop for WWF-India educators in New Delhi and the arrival of the teachers manual for the workshop. 50 schools each were approached in both Mumbai and Pune and finally we had 20 schools accepting the invitation and attending the workshops. For the Pune activity Dr. Ms. Hemlata Parasnis the SSC board member was approached and she provided maximum help in organizing the teachers workshop.
