Young Climate Savers

How could schools join this initiative?

In order to maximize impact, the YCS programme requires and welcomes participation from schools across India in this unique ‘Climate Change’ education and action project.  Schools participating in the initiative will benefit greatly by the unique perspective and insights on ‘Climate Change’ that their pupils receive, not just through classes held by WWF officers, but also through action projects and research they will undertake consequently and through interaction with classmates and other schools. As a result, the collective actions undertaken by the students will help them become climate neutral and responsible citizens.

Presently, the YCS program is only being implemented in the following cities –

  • Hyderabad
  • Bangalore
  • Delhi
  • Kolkata
  • Mumbai
  • Bhubaneshwar
  • Chennai
  • Ahmedabad
  • Dehradun

As a result, only schools functioning in these cities are welcome to join the program presently. If your school is located in a city close to any of the listed cities, kindly contact the WWF-India office in the respective cities for more information www.wwfindia.org   and watch this space for new cities being added to the list.

Schools can join this initiative by expressing their interest in written form, addressed to the WWF-India office in any of the above mentioned cities. This will be followed by a screening and selection process. This process is necessary since the constrained project resources allow only a select number of schools each year to join the program. Selected schools will be notified by the officer in-charge, following which an orientation programme will be conducted for the designated school representatives/teachers. For more information regarding the YCS program, kindly contact Farida Tampal at ftampal@wwfindia.net

Schools’ Headmaster or Principal can Send Request for becoming a member of this initiative.
