Travel Survey

For the Science, Social Science, Environment Science and Mathematics teachers

ACTIVITY PLAN:

•    Introduce the students to the kinds of transport used in major cities

•    Bring out the pros and cons of each means of transport

•    Put forward the issue of greenhouse gases and vehicular emissions

•    Bring out ways of conserving energy in cities

•    Ask the students to conduct the travel survey

•    Make a classroom display with graphs of the findings or hold a special assembly with the results of this survey and make suggestions to students of all classes.

•    Hold a poster competition asking students to bring out the key points of energy conservation in the transport sector

•    You could also ask students to make a project on the Journey of Friendship based on the hypothesis ‘Do I meet my friends who stay close to me more often’
